A poem written from a dog's perspective. Author unknown.
Celestial Bone
I explained to St Peter I'd rather stay here outside the pearly gate, I won't be a nuisance I won't even bark, I'll be very patient and wait. I'll be here, chewing on a celestial bone no matter how long you may be. I'd miss you so much, if I went in alone. It wouldn't be Heaven for me.

A poem written for Mum by her cousin Joy.
Remembered voices from the school yard and others from the past echo all around. Lost laughter haunting on the breeze almost sounds like singing as it dances through the trees. Sun dappled paths and alleyways among tall hedgerows, green, sweet with dog rose and columbine, that tangle between, where butterflies leave foot prints, on petals as they feed. Harvests golden bounty, across swaying fields, ablaze with scarlet poppies, who scatter as they please. A soul at peace. A heart at ease. Home.
